Bali Has a New e-Visa System

Travel and sports tourism is now allowed in Bali, and it is a simple process to apply for a visa. We'll pay for your visa when you stay 2+ weeks, so get in contact now for more information on how you can join us for an exclusive surfing experience.

Padang Padang Surf Camp environmental sustainability program means we do not provide plastic water bottles. You are recommended to bring a water bottle which can be refilled from one of our many water dispensers. There is more than enough plastic in the ocean and on land already, and we discourage the use of single plastic items where practical.

We encourage you to switch off all electrical appliances when not in use, such as Aircon, Fans and Lights. Please do not waste water by leaving taps running at full flow unnecessarily as this is a precious resource in Bali during the dry season.

When travelling in our vehicle you are welcome to use either Aircon or open the windows but not both. Aircon use in a car is necessary in hot weather, but please understand that it does damage the environment with pollution and fumes from the high petrol consumption and it is used most efficiently with the car windows closed.

We do not provide any bottle sauces or syrups. We want you to taste the food as it really tastes i.e. without the bland factory produced sauces which are full of chemicals and preservatives. We understand that this can be challenging if you are used to putting ketchup or hot sauce on all your food but as intrepid travelers we hope you are open to trying new experiences. You are welcome to bring your own sauces or buy in Bali if you really can’t eat food without it being smothered in ketchup. We do provide seasoning such as salt, pepper, cinnamon and honey. Where a dish should be served with a sauce, we provide a delicious freshly made sauce and it will taste even better once you have weaned yourself using bland factory sauces.

We do not use tinned foods, frozen foods or preservatives. All our food is bought fresh in the local markets daily and everything is locally sourced. All chickens in Bali are free range and all fish and seafood is caught in the local waters. In one way we are many years behind the advanced technological western countries, but looked at from another perspective we are also very advanced as there is a very clear trend towards sustainability and organic food. Whatever your point of view on these matters, the fact is it tastes much better and if you don't believe us, come here and try our food.

We do not provide napkins or paper towels but there is a washbasin in the dining area. We know this will be challenging for some people and that napkins are biodegradable. However, looking at the big picture it's not just cutting down trees to make the product. It's about building the factory, transporting overland by truck from Java, plastic wrapping etc. It's clean, simple and hygienic to wash your hands with water which comes from the mountain using gravity, and we recycle the water into the garden.

You will be pleased to know that we do provide toilet paper, but also there is a jet wash in every bathroom which is cleaner and more environmentally friendly.

We appreciate that not everyone will agree with our environmental and food policy as it is not just words and empty gestures – it applies to YOU. We also understand that many people would prefer to keep their aircon running 24H a day but we want to leave this island in a condition that it can be enjoyed by future generations.
