What are the benefits of a private surf lesson?
You will have the undivided attention of your own personal surf instructor, who will always be nearby and ready to help and Provide instant feedback that is readily applicable so you can sense an improvement from wave to wave.
Private surf lessons allow you to catch more waves which means more time spent surfing that will translate to progress at a much faster rate. You will also improve your wave reading and selection skills and build your confidence so that you can become an all around better and more competent surfer.
Unlike our group lessons that operate at fixed times each day, private lessons allow more flexible timings so that we can arrange the lessons around you and your needs.
What happens in a typical private surf lesson?
Each lesson will begin on land with your surf instructor providing you with crucial information of the surf break such as where to paddle out most efficiently and where the rips/currents are (and how you can avoid them).
If you have never surfed before, then the first lesson will include instruction on the very basics of surfing to help you develop a solid foundation from which to grow upon. You will learn such things as; how to paddle, how to jump-up and how to catch waves. We aim to get all our students up and riding by the first lesson. As you progress you will be taught the proper techniques necessary to take your surfing to the next level such as; turning your surfboard, how to build speed and how to perform surfing manoeuvres.
Additionally the lessons can be tailored to specifically focus on areas of surfing that you want to improve upon.
We typically offer 2 surf sessions a day and this would usually be 1 session in morning and 1 session in afternoon or 2 morning sessions. Generally the sessions are between 1.5 and 2.0 hours long.

"I had the instructor Monot for private lessons and he was amazing - so kind and always keen to find the best waves for my level and explain to me how I can improve (and always laughing!) I felt totally safe the whole time."
"The surf instructors are wonderful human beings. I had private surf lessons for 10 days and improved every day. My instructor Monot was patient, gave good feedback, kind, fun and was always looking out for me. The team of instructors get along really well and are the top of their class and it's no wonder."
"The surf instructors are great. Very patient, always smiling, guiding you through the surfing experience and making sure you are having fun through the lessons. They know your limits and your surfing level. They are all expert surfers and have extensive knowledge of the surfing spots and choose them carefully for every surfing group level."
"The best thing about this place is undoubtedly the surf lessons. I could not fault any of the instructors on their enthusiasm, knowledge and care for their students. I was a little nervous at points in the water but felt completely safe with all of them. My surfing has progressed so much over the two weeks I spent there and I cannot thank them enough. Big shout out to Monot, Kristo, Willy, Sandi, Tumbling, Sandi, Andre, Agus and Dani! You are all superstars."
