Private Surf Lessons in Uluwatu, Bali
One Instructor, All The Attention On You
Private lessons are one-to-one — one instructor, one surfer, the whole session focused on what you specifically need to work on. You’ll catch more waves, get feedback after every ride, and cover ground faster than in a group. Suitable for all levels, from first-timers to experienced surfers.
Lessons are available whether you’re staying at the surf camp or based elsewhere in Bali.
What's Included
What A Private Lesson Covers
Every private lesson includes in-water coaching, a rash vest, and the right surfboard for your level. Sessions are two hours. Most guests do two sessions per day.
Because it’s just you and your instructor, the coaching adjusts in real time to what you’re actually doing — not what the group needs. Feedback comes after every wave. You’ll catch more waves and cover ground faster than you would in a group.
Spot selection has more flexibility in private lessons — the schedule is still optimised daily around conditions, but there’s more room to work around preferred locations where conditions allow.
For surf camp guests, video review, land training, pool drills, and surf skate sessions are included as part of your daily coaching between sessions.
Semi-Private Lessons
Surfing With A Partner?
Semi-private lessons are one instructor for two surfers. They work well for couples or two guests who want to learn together — more focused than a group lesson, more cost-effective than two private sessions. Semi-private lessons are priced per pair, not per person.

What Guests Say
In Their Own Words
I had a great experience at Padang Padang Surf Camp. We took semi-private lessons with Randy, who was a great coach. He was very knowledgeable about every break we went to, where was the best place to paddle out, positioning and tips on how to improve my surfing. Randy I’ll buy you a Bintang (or two) next time! Would definitely go back again.

We booked the surf lessons / guiding for my wife and me. We’re both more or less beginners and needed separate sessions to take turns with our baby. The scheduling was very easy and the guides Richie and Samy were both very pleasant, knowledgeable and capable. Great breakfast, too…

I did two sessions a day of private lessons for five full days with Wyn and improved so much — five days with private coaching was equal to six months or more of surfing on my own. Before this surf camp I mainly rode waist to shoulder-high waves. By the end I was surfing head-high to double-overhead, working on angling, pumping, and manoeuvres. Private lessons are so beneficial, even if you’re an advanced surfer.
