Social Activities
At Padang Padang Surf Camp, community is what turns a good stay into a great one. Because we intentionally keep our scale intimate with just 13 rooms, you will actually get to know everyone by name. These genuine personal connections are the core of our surf camp.
It is not uncommon for friends made at these evening activities to keep in touch for years and return together for a second trip. To make sure you never have to figure out your evening plans alone, our dedicated social coordinator curates and leads nightly outings. Our host brings everyone together every evening to share surf stories, enjoy an amazing dinner, and experience the real Uluwatu.
While we have our favourite local spots, we never just stick to a rigid schedule. We keep things fresh and tailor our evening outings based on the vibe of the guests staying with us that week.
Sample evening social activities schedule
Monday – Drifter
If you ask us, Drifter is hands down the coolest surf shop on the planet. Take your time browsing their massive, carefully curated collection of boards and unique apparel. Afterwards, grab a table at their cafe to enjoy a freshly prepared dinner with a great laid-back vibe.
Tuesday – Cultural night
Catch the Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu Temple. This cultural experience is a guest favorite, as the traditional, hypnotic dance is beautifully executed by some of the most talented performers in Bali. It is an absolute must-see.
Wednesday – Sunset at Dreamland Beach
Catch the sunset at Dreamland Beach, an incredibly beautiful and easily accessible spot. You get a perfect vantage point to watch the sets rolling in across Bingin, Padang Padang, and Uluwatu. With so many locals hanging out here, you can always count on great vibes and a good time. After sunset, we enjoy one of Uluwatu’s many excellent restaurants.
Thursday – Live music and DJs
Party night at The Cashew Tree. Enjoy the live band and our very own DJ Dex Scott. Unwind at this exciting venue and dine on fresh, line-caught fish. This is the highlight of the social calendar, but a quick heads up: the frozen margaritas are strong, so an early night is recommended if you want to catch the early surf tomorrow morning.
Friday – La Terrazza
Soak in the live music and authentic Italian food at the best restaurant on the beautiful Uluwatu cliffside. We highly recommend their delicious dragon fruit colada. Enjoy the nice sea breeze and watch all the surfers in the water below while eating your mouth-watering dinner.
Saturday – Surf Camp Family Dinner
After a week of heading out, Saturday is our night to stay in. We alternate weekly between wood-fired pizza and a Fish, Chicken & Vegan BBQ. Prepared fresh by our amazing kitchen team, this is a restaurant-quality feast that brings the whole camp together right here at home for swapping surf stories, great food, and laughter.
Sunday – Single fin
Sunset drinks and a DJ at Single Fin Bali. This is the biggest event in Uluwatu; watching the surfers charge the reef as the sun sets to good music is an experience you will not forget. It gets rather busy, but the food is excellent and the party atmosphere never misses.
