Social Activities

Are you seeking to add more to your surfing experience in Uluwatu? There is something fun going on every evening, and our guests often join each other for dinner and social activities at the end of the day.

At Padang Padang Surf Camp, we thrive on cultivating a sense of community. These social activities provide the foundation for you to foster friendships, share surf stories, and immerse yourself in the local culture to enrich your surf camp experience.

Discover lively cultural experiences with our weekly schedule of social activities. Catch the unmissable Kecak Dance at Uluwatu Temple, groove to live music at The Cashew Tree, savor a BBQ or pizza at the surf camp, and soak in the stunning sunset views with refreshing drinks. You can be sure there’s something here for everyone to cherish and enjoy.

Here is our list of popular evening social activities:

Monday – Ecology night

Nature walk from the surf camp to an ecology resort for a sunset cocktail and panoramic view from Padang Padang to Dreamland.

Tuesday – Cultural night

Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu Temple. This cultural experience is a guest favorite as the traditional dance is beautifully executed with the most talented performers in Bali. A must-see!

Wednesday – Sunset at Bingin Beach

Watch the surfers chasing barrels at Bingin as the sun sets with a cold drink or a coconut at a cliffside warung. There is also a fish BBQ if you stay for dinner. Many other dining options on the cliff top if you don’t want to eat with sand on your feet.

Sunset at Bingin.

Thursday – Live music and DJs

Party night at The Cashew Tree. Enjoy the live band and our very own DJ Dex Scott. Unwind at this exciting venue and dine on the line caught fresh fish. This is the highlight of the social calendar. Be careful as the frozen margaritas are strong, and an early night is recommended for the early surf next morning.

Friday – La Terazza

Soak in the sunset, live music and authentic Italian food on the beautiful Uluwatu cliffside. With live music and a nice sea breeze. We highly recommend their delicious dragon fruit colada and don’t forget to watch all of the surfers in the water while enjoying your mouth watering dinner.

Saturday – Surf camp social night

We alternate weekly between wood fired pizza or Fish & Chicken BBQ, prepared freshly by our amazing kitchen team. A highlight of this experience is that it brings the whole camp together for exciting conversations and laughter.

BBQ night at the surf camp.

Sunday – Single fin

Sunset drinks + DJ at Single Fin Bali. This is the biggest event in Bali; watching the surfers as the sun sets with good music is an experience you will not forget. Gets rather busy but the food is good and always a party atmosphere.

Meet your host

Zara

Meet Zara, a spirited adventurer with a profound love for traveling, nature, and connecting with people. Her heart finds joy in exploring new places, immersing herself in the beauty of the outdoors, and building meaningful connections along the way! Having now decided to call Bali home, she has also embraced the thrill of learning to surf, along with the surf camp guests.

Evening events were interesting and organized by Zara who took care of us and made sure we all feel great. During my stay in this camp I never felt alone because the staff is so nice, always smiling and the people in the camp were amazing. But I must say that camp would never be the same without Zara who made all guests feel welcomed.

Tina

Thank you to Zara for showing me the best week in Uluwatu and for always being so accommodating, friendly, welcoming, and such a pleasure to be around! I have never felt so taken care of- from the fresh, home-cooked meals, and friendly faces of the staff, I hope to return to Padang Padang Surf Camp time and time again!

Brittany

Zara, one of the staff on site, made sure that we got to know different facets of the island, the most beautiful beaches at sunset, the best bars and cultural adventures such as the Kecak dance in the Uluwatu temple. Not only did we feel well looked after in terms of organisation, Zara made the camp shine with her engaging warmth.
