We have a dropping swell today and light winds across the island. Uluwatu was a little mixed up at first light, with energy moving through the water not quite in sync with the rhythm of the swell. Waves are down to the overhead range, with a few larger set waves left over from the peak of the energy.

There are clean conditions for beginner surfers at Padang Padang, making it a very fun day for surf lessons. Intermediate surfers should head down to the waves near the Airport Reefs, as the surf is still a bit big at Balangan and Uluwatu. Advanced surfers can head straight out to Uluwatu to surf the Racetrack early, then move up to the Peak once the tide fills in.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the swell will continue dropping, so expect head-high and below surf with less consistent sets. The trade wind will also be noticeably stronger compared to today.

This Week’s Surf Outlook

We have a lot of swell incoming over the coming week. Friday, Sunday, and next Wednesday will be the days you need to double-check the size, as we expect waves reaching up to 1.5x overhead on those days.

Padang Padang Surf Camp guides check conditions every morning and take guests to the right break for their level. Book a stay with us and we will do the same for you — every day, whatever the swell, wind and tide are doing.
