Surfboard Hire and Rental

When you surf with us, you may bring your own surfboard or we can provide a board that’s just right for you — based on your abilities, goals, and the daily surf conditions.

The use of our surfboards is included in the price of group, private, or semi-private surf lessons.

We have a vast array of boards available in all shapes and sizes, including shortboards, mini-mals, mid-lengths, longboards, fun boards and soft-top foam boards. We do not rent surfboards outside of our surf lessons and guiding sessions.

soft-tops

A surfer always begins their journey on a soft-top surfboard. These boards have a deck and rails made of foam with a more flexible slick bottom that’s similar to a bodyboard.

A soft-top board is primarily used by beginners to help avoid injuries to themselves and those around them. These boards are less likely to get damaged then more delicate fibreglass boards and are more stable when first learning to stand up and catch green waves.

We have a soft top surfboard for every size and shape of surfer, and once you become comfortable standing up with control of your board, we’ll move you on to a fiberglass board.

malibus

Our Malibus and Longboards range from 8-9 ft and are great for beginners to catch their first green waves as the next step up from a foam board.

These boards will give you the stability you need to get up to your feet and their ease of paddling makes it easier to catch waves too — ensuring that you get the most from your sessions.

mini-mals

For intermediates, the Mini Malibu — shortened to Mini Mal — is the best transition from a longer to a shorter board. Ranging from around 7-8 ft they still provide much stability and wave-catching abilities but also are a little more maneuverable than their large siblings — both when riding the wave and padding around the lineup.

funboards

With these boards the names says it all and everyone from intermediate level and above surfers can enjoy these boards.

At just under 7 ft long, they are easy to catch waves with, maneuverable, and fast down the line.

These are all aspects that make these boards so much fun to ride. A little more paddle power than a mini-mal is required due to the smaller size and shape of the boards.

Shortboards at Padang Padang Surf Camp.

shortboards

For all the advanced to expert surfers out there, we have a variety of new shortboards to choose from, ranging from 5’8-6’0 ft.

These boards suit all surf conditions in Bali and have proven themselves to be easy to paddle and handle, even when the conditions get more challenging.

If you are looking for a performance-oriented shortboard, we’ve got you covered.

MATT HURWORTH 5’8 AND 6’0

These are great all-rounders for most conditions and waves in Bali; not too bulky and not too small. Switching from fun- to shortboard is done easily with this kind of shape and, due to the round nose and wide tail, it can be surfed smaller than you would think.

Lots of volume in the front and a fairly flat rocker will provide easy paddling and lots of drive to get through flat sections of the waves.

These boards are great for surf spots like Balangan, Toro-Toro, and the airport reefs.

NATIVE SX3 5’11

This is a hot-rod of a surfboard performs best in heavier and more challenging conditions.

It is perfect for the likes of Uluwatu, Padang Padang, or Balangan.

Fast and responsive, 4-8 foot surf is what it likes for breakfast and everyone with a more advanced skill set will love this board.

CHANNEL ISLANDS POD MOD 6’0

A board for bigger guys or someone who wants to try a shortboard for the first time, this board has lots of volume under the chest and helps you to catch waves easily.

A great board for smaller waves and average conditions. A wave catcher and guaranteed fun for everyday surfing.

MID-LENGTH THRUSTERS

Has it been a while between surfs? Are you not quite ready for that shortboard? Our range of Med-Length Thrusters from master shaper Richard Evans are the boards for you! The extra length aids with paddling and wave catching, while the shortboard-inspired design allows the board to perform at a high level with tons of drive from the added length, and precise control from the thruster fin set-up. They can also be used as step-up boards for larger days. Our range consists of a 6” 6’, 6” 8’, and a 6” 10’ all beautifully painted in tropical-inspired colors.
