Excellent waves at Bali’s premier surf spot – Uluwatu. The swell has dropped off in size and consistency but there were plenty of fun long waves to be had. As always in the dry season, the wind was offshore and the waves very clean.
As detailed in our Ultimate Guide to Surfing Uluwatu, this section works best on a low-to-mid tide where it offers powerful walls and rides up to 400 meters long. Unlike “The Peak” which relies on high tide consistency, the Racetrack requires precise positioning to navigate the speed required to make the sections. The Racetrack was living up to its name: fast, down-the-line, and offering section after section to hit. It was a light-hearted, high-performance session that proved you don’t need perfection to have an incredible surf.
