If you want to get away from the crowds in the rainy season, head west as everybody else goes to Nusa Dua and the East coast. The West Coast gets incredibly good in the rainy season without the trade winds and crowds of the dry season. Balian is particularly good this time of year as it goes offshore after rain, but be careful, there are plenty of sharks.
